Cricket Australia’s Community Cricket Facility Guidelines (‘the Guidelines’) aim to provide a consolidated technical resource to aid the planning, design and development of community cricket infrastructure.  insideEDGE played a pivotal role in the development of the original Guidelines in 2015, as well as in their refreshing in 2023.

This 2023 edition of the Guidelines build on the content provided within the original 2015 edition, and provides updated, refreshed and new information relevant to cricket facility provision.  This edition of the Guidelines also provides an enhanced focus on the importance of inclusion, maintaining infrastructure and the incorporation of environmentally sustainable design principles into all projects.

The development of the Guidelines was a collaborative effort between insideEDGE, SportENG, Bickerton Masters, Arkhart Advisory and Cricket Australia, with support from State and Territory cricket bodies.

The Guidelines represent an important part of Cricket Australia’s investment into community cricket, with facilities being recognised as one of the key pillars in supporting the growth of cricket participation and improving participant and fan experiences.
