Queensland Golf Facilities Plan 2020-2030

Queensland Golf Facilities Plan 2020-2030

Completed: 2020

Client: Golf Australia

The Queensland Golf Facilities Plan was developed by insideEDGE to provide Golf Australia and its stakeholders with a detailed assessment and analysis of the state’s golf facility landscape across metropolitan and country Queensland.

The Plan provides golf clubs and venues with clarity and direction in their facility planning and development initiatives and delivers clear evidence for prioritising golf infrastructure projects.

A detailed audit of 279 golf venues assisted in the development of a strategic development framework to support golf’s vision of delivering well located, welcoming, accessible and sustainable golf facilities.

Facility related infrastructure priorities were developed for each of the 16 golf regions across Queensland following a detailed stakeholder consultation program and needs assessment. Consultation with the golf community, facility providers and local government provided insights into the facility challenges, barriers and development aspirations for golf infrastructure in Queensland.

Short, medium and long term strategic recommendations in each region will be used to guide the future planning and development of golf infrastructure and enable local golf communities and Council partners to confidently invest and collaborate on future golf related projects.
