Barossa Tennis Audits
The audits were completed using a web based audit program designed specifically to reflect the facility development guidelines for netball and tennis. The Sports Facility Auditor program includes a checklist that assesses the condition, compliance and lifecycle of the asset. The audit process undertaken for this project included the following:
- Visual inspection of each venue, court, court enclosure and supporting amenities.
- Assessment of courts to recommended run-off distances and court infrastructure compliance to current standards.
- Identification of the life-cycle of all court surfaces, enclosure fencing, lighting structures, line marking, clubrooms, spectator amenities, net posts and nets.
- Notations on key site attributes, including drainage, vegetation and other items that may impact on the condition and performance of hard courts.
- Identification of maintenance, risk, safety and accessibility issues identified.
Key Highlights
- Extensive consultation with local, regional and state government, sport and community sectors.
- An audit of all existing facilities across the region to examine facility conditions and compliance with preferred AFL and Netball Victoria provision.
- Future facility provision based on projected participation identified and prioritised from community club level to elite pathway facility requirements.
